It has two V-shaped asymmetric cylinders that are welded between the angles of 75° and 90°. The cylinders are welded to ensure a diffusive mixing of the entire components, reduce segregation, and drop the mixing duration. 3# Inlet Doors:
It has two inlet doors that allow quick entry of material.

There is a butterfly-shaped valve to maintain manual discharge of products from the V blender. However, it is recommended to fill in the materials in symmetrical layers to ensure smooth mixing and discharge.
How Does V Blender work?
The primary mode of action of V blender is based on the process of diffusion. It is characterized by the random movement of the granules and particles. It generates diffusive blending that supports the movement of the individual particles. This diffusive blending ensures a high degree of homogeneity. As there is no agitator inside the V blender, the rotation of shells generates rotation and optimal mixing of the product.
V blender generates an axial flow that results in a rapid uniform mixing of material without the use of deflating blades. The blending speed plays an important role in the mixing of materials. For example, the shear forces are very low at lower blending speeds. Likewise, higher blending speeds generate high shear forces. The total critical speed of V blenders is approximately 50% to 80%.
It is higly recommended to fill up to 70% of the total internal space of the V mixer to ensure smooth mixing of the powdered and solid particles. The blending time of V blender is based on the blending speed and nature of the particles. Usually, blending time varies from 8 to 10 minutes depending upon the nature of the material to be blended.
What Are The Mixing Parameters Of V Blenders?
Three parameters influence the homogeneity and working capacity of V blenders.
1# Mixing Batch Volume:
As I told you before the V blender must be loaded between 40% and 70% of its total volume. As the V blender has two legs of the cylinder to rotate the solid particles, there must be sufficient space available for free rotation. The overfilling of the V blender requires a longer duration than usual to mix all the solid particles. Hence, appropriate filling of V blender is essential to maintain complete diffusion of materials between the two cylinders of it.
2# Mixing Speed:
The mixing speed of the V blender is proportional to the centrifugal speed generated by its two cylinders. A typical centrifugal force generated by V blenders is approximately 10-25 rpm. The optimal mixing speed lies between 50% and 80% of the critical rotation speed. Likewise, it also promotes shear force. Moreover, the mixing speed is based on the total volume of the V blender. The bigger the size, the slower the speed is.
3# Symmetrical Loading Style:
A symmetrical loading style is very important to cut long mixing time to short. It is recommended to proceed by layers. If you load all the ingredients in the 1st leg and 2nd leg does not contain an equal volume of ingredients in it, it will disturb the loading speed and loading time. Always add ingredients in the form of layers to optimize the cycle time in each run.
